Panel Votes to Reduce a Forage Fish Catch
A fishing oversight group voted Wednesday to sharply reduce the allowable East Coast catch of menhaden, an oily forage fish that does not show up on dinner plates, but is vital, scientists say, to the ocean ecosystem.

SENATE HELP COMMITTEE INCLUDES ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IN ESEA LEGISLATION
During a mark up hearing, the Senate Committee accepted an amendment that proposed a new grant program entitled “Well Rounded Education” which includes environmental education as a subject eligible for funding under Title IV of ESEA.
