Kindergartners Learn About Terrapins

The Wetlands Institute visits Mrs. Dean’s Kindergarten class at Stone Harbor Elementary School. The visit kicked off a year-long fundraising effort with the students who bake and sell turtle cookies to raise funds for terrapin conservation.

Diamondback Terrapins Get a Helping Hand from Disney

Stone Harbor, NJ, October 3, 2011 – The Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund (DWCF) announced that The Wetlands Institute has been awarded an annual grant to support the Jersey Shore Terrapin Conservation Project.

Annual Quilt Show at the Wings ‘n Water Festival

The Annual Quilt show was held at St. Mary’s Church during the 29th Annual Wings ‘n Water Festival. Ribbons were awarded in the categories of Viewer’s Choice, Quilter’s Choice, Large, Small and Antique.

Wetlands Institute Names New Executive Director

Beginning in October, Dr. Lenore Tedesco will assume the role of Executive Director at the Wetlands Institute. Tedesco will be responsible for leadership, and will be developing an expanded vision of the Institute and implementing its mission with the staff and board.
