Sea Isle Students Aid Terrapin Population

With the guidance of Institute volunteers, Steve and Susan Ahern, second and third grade students from the Sea Isle City Public School recently accepted the responsibility of caring for six rescued diamondback terrapin turtles.

2010 Piping Plover Nesting Results

Results from the 2010 piping plover breeding season were recently released by the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey.

Steve Ahern Raced for Research

Wetlands Institute volunteer Steve Ahern, completed the New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 7th. In his “Race for Research”, Ahern managed to raise over $1,500 for the Wetlands Institute.

New Jersey Children’s Bill of Rights Initiative

Children’s art on display at the Wetlands Institute

Children’s art will be on display at the Wetlands Institute through Nov. 15., featuring the work of over 20 young artists. The artwork will be used on the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey’s annual calendar to call attention to the urgency of preserving New Jersey’s wildlife.
